Product Reviews

April 2004 - Over the last few weeks, I have been testing the Lone Star Pro Platinum series rods while wading and drifting Galveston Bay throwing mostly artificial lures.

The first of the two rods I tested was the 6'6" med. action. This rod weighs in at only 3.75 oz. and still packs a good strong hook set. The 6'6" also has a very strong load up for casting large top waters and heavier plugs long distances. If you are looking for a light but strong rod for wading this might be your choice.

The second of the two is the 7'0" med. light .This rods weight is 4.5oz. this rod can also send large plugs a good distance but gives you a better feel for lighter baits such as paddle tails, jerk baits and smaller plugs. If one rod is all you are looking for to complete your rod room this could be the one. This rod can possibly suit all of your needs in one rod.

If you would like to find out more information on the complete line of Lone Star Rods, go our equipment page under the Rods - Standard section, and click the Lone Star Rods logo, or click the listing in red.

Thanks, Clint Sholmire
